Private Security Agency is a person or body of persons other than a government agency, department or organisation which is engaged in the business of providing private security services including training to private security guards or their supervisor or providing private security guards to any industrial or business undertaking or a company or any other person or property.

You cannot carry on or commence the business of private security agency, unless you holds a licence issued under THE PRIVATE SECURITY AGENCIES (REGULATION) ACT, 2005.
Further, if you want to provide private security services abroad then you will need to obtain permission of the Controlling Authority, which shall consult the Central Government before according such permission.

Process of Private Security Agency registration in Karnataka - Karnataka PSARA License

The process of Private Security Agency License Registration starts with the submission of the above documents. If, the company is not already registered then the first step would be to register the company.

On Submission of the above documents, certain affidavits are required to be prepared along with the required documents as per the Rules and Regulations. Once the entire file is complete, the same has to be submitted to the state government concerned along with the govt fee. 

On receipt of the file and fee, state govt starts verifying the documents and also issues a letter for police verification to the police department of the concerned state. The police verification is done at 2 stages i.e., at the stage of local police station and then at the stage of Commissionerate. 

Once the file has been received with no objection from police department and the verification of all the affidavits, documents is completed by the state government, then the license is issued by the state government to carry on the activities of private security agency within the given state or district for 5 years.
