KVIC Registration of Institutions

The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) is a statutory body established by the Government of India under the Khadi and Village Industries Commission Act, 1956. It promotes and supports the development of khadi and village industries in rural areas, generating self-employment and boosting the rural economy. Institutions and organizations looking to engage in khadi or village industry activities must register with KVIC to avail benefits, schemes, and support.

KVIC Registration of Institutions

Eligibility for Registration of Khadi Institutions

  • Should have registered under the Co-operative Societies, Trust, Registered Institution, Firm or company and any other under prevailing Act.
  • Should possess common work shed or building having adequate space for carrying out spinning and weaving activities.
  • Must have a minimum of 25 Charkhas, and 5 looms to start the Khadi activities.
  • Should provide the list of 25 spinners, 5 weavers and 2 supervisors as per the format is given at Annexure 1.
  • Should furnish the Undertaking in the prescribed format specified at Annexure-2 on the non-judicial stamp paper of  Rs.100/-
  • Should furnish NOC from State Khadi and Village Industries Board in case the institution already registered under state KVIB and needs to register with KVIC.

  • Trusts, NGOs, and Societies involved in khadi or village industries.
  • Cooperative societies engaged in rural entrepreneurship.
  • Private organizations or firms working on rural development projects.
  • Partnership firms or LLPs involved in village industries.
  • Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in rural sectors.

Documents Required for KVIC Registration

  • Application form (duly filled with details of the institution).
  • PAN card of the organization.
  • Certificate of Incorporation/Registration (for companies, LLPs, or NGOs).
  • GST registration certificate.
  • Bank account details of the organization.
  • Identity and address proof of authorized representatives.
  • Project report detailing the nature of the industry, expected employment, and financial estimates.
  • NOC from Gram Panchayat or local authority (if applicable).

KVIC Registration Process

  • Application Submission:

    • Institutions must submit the KVIC registration form online through the official KVIC website or offline at the nearest KVIC office.
    • The form must include details of the industry, production process, and funding requirements.
  • Document Verification:

    • KVIC verifies the submitted documents and inspects the facilities of the applicant.
    • This includes checking the production capacity, raw materials used, and quality of the products.
  • Approval and Certification:

    • Once verified, KVIC issues the Khadi Certificate or Village Industries Certificate, making the institution officially recognized.
    • The institution can now avail of government subsidies, schemes, and financial assistance.
