Punjab Smart Ration Card

These cards are issued to people who are categorised under Below Poverty Line (BPL) to avail the benefits provided by the government. The Government of Punjab has refurbished the previous scheme and provided smart ration card to citizens of Rajasthan. The benefits of the scheme are the same as the one before, but the functioning of the scheme is different from the previous ones.

Punjab Ration (Rashan) Card Eligibility

  1. Should be a resident of Punjab.
  2. The applicant should have an Aadhaar Card.
  3. The head of the family must have a bank account.
  4. The applicant must be able to produce a passport size photo of the family and some necessary documents.
  5. The applicant can have only one ration card in his/her name.
  6. The applicant must qualify under the income slabs as per the AAY and PHH schemes.

Documents Required to Apply for Punjab Ration Card

  • Proof of address such as Aadhaar, utility bills, etc.
  • Rent receipt if the applicant is living in a rented house.
  • If you as an applicant is moving from one town to another, then the surrender certificate is to be shown.
  • Residence certificate and the total number of family members available is to be shown if the applicant is working in a government or a private firm.
  • Residence certificate and number of members by Institutional Head or Reporting Officer if you are working in Registered Industrial Institutions.
  • Residential address and education certificate if you are a student living in an Urban Area.
  • PAN Card is to be provided.
  • Two passport size photographs of the head of the family and the passport size photograph of the family is to be provided.

How to Apply for Punjab Ration Card?

There is no procedure for applying for a Punjab Ration Card online. On their web platform, the Punjabi government will, however, shortly begin the procedure.

By visiting the EPDS Punjab Department and requesting an application form, you can apply for a ration card offline. Completely complete out the application form, and submit it along with all required paperwork.

You will need to pay a small fee before receiving an Acknowledgment Number. If all the information on the application is accurate, it will be processed when it is submitted, and you should receive your ration card within 15 to 20 days.

How to Change Name in Punjab Ration Card?

EPDS Punjab Department Office and request for a change in name application form. Duly fill the application form and submit it. You may also be required to submit documents mentioning your correct name. The form will be processed and if all the details are correct, a new ration card will be issued where the correct name will reflect.
