How to Create a UPI ID?
reating a UPI ID is simple and can be done through any UPI-enabled app like Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, etc. Here’s how:
- Download and Install a UPI App – Install any UPI-enabled app from Google Play Store or App Store.
- Register with Your Mobile Number – Use the mobile number linked to your bank account.
- Select Your Bank Account – The app will fetch bank details linked to your mobile number.
- Create a UPI ID – The app may provide a default UPI ID or allow you to customize it.
- Set a UPI PIN – Verify your debit card details and set a secure UPI PIN for transactions.
How to Create a UPI ID in Google Pay?
Step 1: Open the Google Pay app on your smartphone.
Step 2: Tap on your profile picture or name at the top.
Step 3: Select ‘Add bank account.’
Step 4: Choose your bank from the list of available options.
Step 5: Google Pay will verify your phone number with an OTP.
Step 6: Once verified, select the bank account you wish to link.
Step 7: Set a UPI PIN for this account.
Step 8: Your UPI ID is now ready, and you can use it for transactions.

How to Find UPI ID in BHIM App?
Step 1: Log in to your account using your app password.
Step 2: Navigate to the main screen and select the “Profile” option from the drop-down menu. Here, you can access your UPI ID along with your QR Code.
How to Generate your UPI PIN?
- Launch the app on your smartphone, such as Google Pay or PhonePe, that supports UPI services.
- Look for the option that allows you to set your UPI PIN. It is usually located in the ‘Banking’ or ‘My Account’ section.
- From the list of linked bank accounts in your UPI app, select the bank account for which you want to set the UPI PIN.
- The app will send a one-time password (OTP) to your registered mobile number for verification. Enter this OTP to proceed.
- After verifying the OTP, you will be prompted to set a 4 or 6-digit UPI PIN. Choose a PIN that is unique and easy for you to remember, but not easily guessable. Confirm the PIN, and it is now successfully set for your chosen bank account.
